Iran to implement strict supervision on construction permits

TEHRAN, Iran, Aug.18

Iran is to implement more intense management when issuing construction permits in order to prevent illegal constructions in villages, cities and on agricultural lands, said Interior Minister.

"It is expected that officials in related organizations and governors will apply to legal authorities to address the issue," said Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"Experts are drafting plans to solve the issue via legal means and, in particular, in the country's northern provinces, and prevent illegal constructions," he noted. "Obtaining necessary legal permits will hinder illegal activities and serve as incentives to encourage farming."

"Cooperation with legal authorities will help the Ministry of Agriculture to prevent illegal construction," Rahmani Fazli said.

"There should be more inspections in provinces to address the problem. On the other hand, long procedure of issuing permit for housing construction have led to illegal activities," he added.
