Steel smelting plant to be commissioned in Iran's Zanjan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 9

The largest steel smelting plant established by the Iranian private sector will be commissioned in the Zanjan Province (western Iran) by the end of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 to March 21, 2021), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Zanjan Province Nasser Faghfouri, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

Faghfouri noted that the plant will start to operate with an investment of 20 trillion rials (about $476 million) by Alborz Nab Arash Company of Iran.

The chairman added that the plant will possess the capacity to produce 1.1 million tons of steel ingots per year.

“In addition, the second plant of 'NAVARD FOOLADKARAN OFOGH' company in the province is ready for commission,” he said.

Faghfouri emphasized that the plant will produce steel electrodes.

"A total of 5 trillion (about $119 million) rials has been invested on the construction of this plant," he said.
