Stamicarbon, the Dutch licensing and innovation company of technology licensor and Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) contractor Maire Tecnimont Group, signed the license agreement for a 1,925 tonnes/day (636,000 tonnes/year) urea melt plant operated by Turkmenhimiya State Concern in 2010, Stamicarbon told Trend.

The plant uses Stamicarbon’s LAUNCH MELT™ Pool Condenser Design and was started up in 2015, added the company.

Stamicarbon pointed out that this is the company’s second plant in Turkmenistan. The first one is a 1050 tonnes/day urea LAUNCH MELT ™ Pool Reactor Design plant in Tejen, in operation since 2005.

“Stamicarbon has no new agreements for newly built plants planned at the moment, but it stays actively engaged for continued support, providing services for operating plants, including possible expansions of existing ones,” added the company.

The current business environment of Turkmenistan shows very interesting dynamics for Stamicarbon.

“Having a strong foothold in the fertilizer scene in Turkmenistan already and with all the economical drivers for further expansion in place, Stamicarbon and the whole Maire Tecnimont Group can play a strategic role to continue their contribution to the development of Turkmenistan’s industrial sector, economy and wealth,” added the company.

Stamicarbon is licensing and developing urea plants for the fertilizer industry, applies expertise, knowledge, and experience for many solutions; fertilizer production technologies, emission reduction technologies, and all technologies for the integration of urea and adjacent processes.
