Share of Russia in Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover unveiled

Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia made up $1.7 billion from January through August 2020, down 6.3 percent compared to the same period in 2019, Trend reports referring to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.

According to the committee, in the reporting period, Russia’s share in foreign trade operations of Azerbaijan amounted to 10.34 percent of the total trade turnover of Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan exported products worth $463.3 million to Russia (growth by 1.2 percent year-on-year). Russia’s share in Azerbaijan’s total export made up 4.69 percent.

At the same time, import of products from Russia to Azerbaijan over the past eight months of 2020 edged down by 8.8 percent year-on-year to $1.2 billion. Some 18.67 percent of Azerbaijan’s total import of goods accounted for supplies from Russia.

Thus, the negative balance of Azerbaijan in export-import relations with Russia for the reporting period made up $786.3 million.

In general, foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia in 2019 amounted to $3.22 billion, which is 18.5 percent more than in 2018.
