UK, Switzerland buy aviation kerosene in Turkmenistan

Entrepreneurs from the UK, the UAE, Switzerland, Singapore and Afghanistan purchased aviation kerosene, lighting kerosene, and heating oil in foreign currency during trading on the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

In addition, entrepreneurs from Russia, the US, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan bought colorless flat glass, smooth-colored and jacquard terry products, as well as cotton yarn in foreign currency.

The total amount of transactions on the exchange in foreign currency exceeded $29 million.

Transactions in Turkmen manat were also made on the exchange. Thus, entrepreneurs from the UK, Switzerland, the UAE, Turkey, Singapore, Afghanistan and others purchased handmade carpets, solutions of sodium chloride and glucose, cotton yarn for a total of about 13 million manat ($3.7 million).

Also, Turkmen entrepreneurs purchased polypropylene, oil bitumen and hand-made carpets for the domestic market of the country for a total amount of over 46.649 million manat ($13.3 million).

In general, 109 transactions were registered on the exchange over the past week.
The state commodity exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important agency of state regulation of export-import operations.
