Pharmaceutical products worth 524,500 manat ($308,529) were produced in Azerbaijan from January through August 2020, Trend reports citing the Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee.
According to the data, the volume of production of medicines, packaged in forms or packages for retail sale containing antibiotics, amounted to 14,500 manat ($8,529) during the reporting period, which is 47.9 percent less than the same period last year.
The stock of finished products as of September 1, 2020, is 14,400 manat ($8,470).
"In total, the production of other medicines containing pure or mixed products amounted to 510,000 manat ($300,000). Production growth compared to the same period last year amounted to 59.5 percent," the information says.
The stock of finished products as of September 1, 2020, is 273,300 manat ($160,764).
From January through April 2020, the growth in the production of pharmaceutical products in Azerbaijan amounted to 60 percent compared to the same period last year.
In January-July 2020, there was an increase in the production of the non-oil industry in Azerbaijan by 13 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
According to the data, the total volume of industrial production for the reporting period decreased by 2.7 percent and amounted to 21.6 billion manat ($12.7 billion).
