Phosphate production of Iran's Esfordi Phosphate Industrial & Mineral Complex increases

The phosphate production of Iran's Esfordi Phosphate Industrial & Mineral Complex in the Bafq County of the Yazd Province increased by about 7 percent during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020) compared to the envisaged plan, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, the complex produced about 37,300 tons of phosphate concentrate during the reporting period. However, it was envisaged in the production plan to produce 35,000 tons of phosphate over 6 months.

“While in the same period last Iranian year, the complex's phosphate production amounted to 52,200 tons,” the report said.

Thus, the complex’s production increased 103 percent compared to the plan (45,600 tons) during 6 months of the last Iranian year (March 21-September 22, 2019).

According to the report, the Esfordi Complex extracted about 179,000 tons of mining materials within six months. This is an increase of 34 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. As many as 133,000 tons of mining materials were extracted in the same period last Iranian year.

“The complex's phosphate sales for 6 months amounted to 26,100 tons. This figure shows an increase of 48 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. While in the same period last Iranian year, the complex sold 17,600 tons of phosphate,” the report said.

The Esfordi Phosphate Industrial & Mineral Complex is one of the IMIDRO affiliated companies and is located 34 km from Bafq County of Yazd Province.
