TEHRAN, Iran, Oct.18

Arak Science and Technology Park in Markazi Province of Iran has accepted 45 new knowledge-based companies in the current Iranian year (started March 20,2020), said the deputy at the park, Mohammad Karimoldini, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The park seeks to support university graduates and their knowledge-based businesses," he said.

Karimoldini also touched upon the benefits for companies to be taken into the Arak Science and Technology Park.

"The companies that are expected to establish themselves in the science and technology park, would have offices, communication services, and cooperation with other knowledge-based companies to trade technical knowledge," he said.

"The support of knowledge based companies would include tax exemption, possible foreign investments and accelerating work relations and employment," he said.

"A total of 17.5 billion rials (about $416,000) have been injected to 58 knowledge-based companies in Markazi Province in the current Iranian year in the form of advances," Karimoldini said.

He also added that about 14 companies in the province have been producing medical equipment to fight the COVID-19 spread.

"The knowledge-based companies in the province had considerable progress last Iranian year (started March 21,2019) and exported commodity valued more than $2.5 million," he said.
