The foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Austria from January through September 2020 made up $153.6 million, which is $18.5 million less than in the same period of last year, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

According to the ministry, the import of Austrian goods to Azerbaijan on an annualized basis decreased from $54.6 million to $49.5 million. The share of Austria in the total import volume of Azerbaijan reached 0.63 percent compared to 0.53 percent in the same period of 2019.

At the same time, the export of Azerbaijani goods to Austria in the past nine months of this year amounted to $104.1 million, while a year earlier this figure was $117.5 million. So, the share of Austria in the total export volume of Azerbaijan grew from 0.79 percent to 0.98 percent, the ministry said.

Thus, the balance of foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Austria remained positive during the reporting period and topped $54.5 million.

In general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover made up $18.4 billion from January through September 2020, which is a 1.4 times decline year on year.

The balance of foreign trade turnover on an annualized basis dropped by 1.6 times, but nevertheless remained positive, amounting to over $2.7 billion.
