By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:
Turkmenistan’s Lebap region received 33 tractors of John Deere-6175 equipped with digital telemetry systems since the beginning of the year, Trend reports with reference to Neutral Turkmenistan electronic newspaper.
The tractors were used for cotton planting, the report says.
In addition to John Deere, the region recently received eight-row seeders made in France by Monosem. Also, American Ortman-8375 cultivators are used in the region.
The deliveries were made within the framework of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG.
This document defines mandatory telematics equipment for agricultural machinery and equipment purchased by Turkmenistan for 2020-2030. The implementation of this system allows tracking the location of each electronically equipped tractor, fuel consumption, and actual operating time from special points in the capital and regions.
Turkmen Agriculture Ministry has adopted the concept of switching to a telematics digital control system for agricultural machinery in all regions in three stages in the period 2019-2022.
Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
