Turkmenistan increases its trade volume

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 6

Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan has increased the total volume of trade turnover by 8.6 percent from January through October 2020, compared to the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

This was reported during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held via videoconference.

The volume of cotton yarn produced by enterprises of the Ministry of Textile Industry increased by 0.4 percent, fabrics – 1.2, clothing and knitwear – 17.4, leather-3.2 percent.

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange held 231 trading sessions and signed 23,062 contracts in 10 months since the beginning of the year.

The growth rate of work performed by Turkmen Chamber of Commerce and Industry increased by 7.1 percent.

During the reporting period, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan's growth rate of industrial production increased by 33 percent, while agricultural and food production increased by 10.2 percent.

As reported, Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan has increased the total volume of trade turnover by 13.8 percent from January through September 2020.
