The deputy chairman of the economic commission of the Iran parliament said with the plans made to activate the north-south and east-west corridors, Anzali port can play a significant role in the economic development of the country.
“The port has a good economic potential in the region, which due to some obstacles has not yet been able to achieve its intended position,” Iranian MP Ehsan Khandouzi stated on the sidelines of visiting the Anzali port complex, Trend reports citing the official website of Port and Maritime Organization of Iran.
He went on to say that if part of the country`s trade is shifted to the Anzali ports, the Anzali port complex can be made more dynamic than in the past.
The Deputy Chairman of the Economic Commission of the Parliament noted that the planned development of the port will be reached by activating the export of goods to Russia and Kazakhstan.
