The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has handed over new medical equipment to the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmenportal information portal.
According to the information, the equipment was delivered to the maternity protection department of the ministry.
The equipment was purchased in the framework of cooperation between UNFPA and the ministry with funding from the government of Turkmenistan.
UNFPA regularly supports the country's ministry of health and pharmaceutical industry in providing and coordinating maternal and perinatal health services in accordance with national standards.
Over the past five years, UNFPA has supplied various medical and diagnostic equipment for Turkmenistan.
