Russian Export Center discloses value of support for exports to Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 24

The Russian Export Center (REC) provided support to exports from Russia to Azerbaijan in the amount of $151 million during the first quarter of 2020, the shock early period of the global COVID-19 pandemic, head of the center’s representative office Nuri Guliyev told Trend.

“During the pandemic, our center revised the list of exhibitions and business missions for 2020. It successfully launched the format of business missions in the online space in the first two quarters of 2020,” said Guliyev. “The export indicators during 2Q2020 showed good dynamics, reaching $219 million.”

Speaking about economic indicators over the past years, the office’s head said that the value of supported exports to Azerbaijan in 2018 amounted to $283 million, and in 2019 - already $511 million.

"Most of the exports during the second quarter of 2020 were for machine-building products - $131 million and $59 million - for agricultural products," he added.

The Russian Export Center is a state institute for supporting non-resource non-energy exports, which provides domestic exporters with a wide range of financial and other support measures.
