Iran could export technical and engineering services to Azerbaijan for reconstruction work in the Karabakh region, Head of the Association of Iranian Exporters of Technical and Engineering Services of Iran Mohammad Reza Ansari told Trend.
"Following the Karabakh conflict, there is potential in the region that can be used, also for strengthening the relations between Iran and Azerbaijan," he said, adding that the potential for work is in the construction sector, infrastructure.
"The region requires electricity, housing and other infrastructure," he said. "So, Iran shouldn't stay on the sidelines. There will be rivals of course, Turkey is the most important one."
He also said that Iran has capacity to offer technical and engineering services, along with investments.
"Iranian people have cultural and religious similarities with Azerbaijan and this looks like a good opportunity to provide what Azerbaijan may require," Ansari said.
