The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan sold 1,500 tons of polypropylene produced at Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries, Trend reports with reference to Business Turkmenistan information portal.

Some 1,500 tons of raffia grade polypropylene produced at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries were put up for export on March 10 at Turkmenistan’s exchange.

The starting price was determined at the level of $1,515 per ton, FOB/FCA, as a result, the price reached another record – $1,775 per ton, FOB/FCA.

The entire volume of polypropylene was sold in one day, the report says.

Turkmenistan increased the production of polypropylene by 40.5 percent, and polyethylene by 40 percent from January through July 2020, compared to the same period in 2019.

The physical volume of manufactured polypropylene was 71,100 tons, and polyethylene equaled 137,400 tons.

This production growth was due to The Kiyanly Gas Chemical Complex in Turkmenistan’s Balkan region, the construction of which was carried out under a contract of Turkmenistan’s Turkmengas State Concern with a consortium of companies like Hyundai Engineering Go.Ltd, LG International Corp (Republic of Korea), and Toyo Engineering Corp (Japan).
