A 12-percent duty has been imposed on the import of mobile phones worth more than $600 to Iran in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Trend reports citing the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
This is reflected in the letter sent by the IRICA to the Iranian customs checkpoints.
According to the report, furthermore, the duty on import of a passenger car is set at a minimum of 86 percent, provided that all legal steps are implemented and the documents are in order.
In addition, a total of 15-percent customs duty was imposed on the import of cosmetics, the report said.
“The customs duties on imports of strategic goods, including, medicines, medical devices and equipment, agricultural and livestock products, feed and so on were reduced. Thus, the customs duty for imports of strategic goods was reduced by 4 percent, for medicines, medical devices and equipment, agricultural, livestock and feed products - by 1 percent, for other unspecified goods - by 2 percent,” the report said.
