Imports of the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan decreased by 13.3 percent in 2020 and amounted to $8.2 billion, Trend reports referring to payment balance data of the country's Central Bank (CBA).
According to the data, in the structure of imports, which was $10.1 billion, consumer goods accounted for $4.3 billion, including $1.5 billion – food products.
The import of equipment and special goods to Azerbaijan in the reporting year amounted to $800 million, or 8.1 percent of all imports, the report said.
In the structure of non-oil imports, imports of pharmaceuticals grew by 27.2 percent, vegetable products by 13.8 percent, and detergents by 22.5 percent.
The direct investments in Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector made up $605.6 million last year, thus decreasing by 34.9 percent compared to 2019.
