Georgia sees increase in Export Price Index

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20

The Export Price Index (XPI) increased by 1.3 percent in March 2021 compared to the previous month in Georgia, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

There was a 1.5-percent increase in the prices for manufactured products.

Compared to March 2020, the XPI increased by 13.3 percent. In the mentioned period prices increased for manufactured products by 12.7 percent, for water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services by 50 percent and for products from mining and quarrying by 8 percent.

The Import Price Index (MPI) increased by 5 percent over the previous month, while compared to March 2020 the index increased by 18.9 percent.

Compared to March 2020 the prices were 21.4 percent higher for manufactured products. For products from mining and quarrying a price decrease of 6.4 percent was registered, while for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning prices increased by 31.1 percent. With regard to water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services, the prices were 10.2 percent higher.
