The National Geological Exploration Company of Kazakhstan, Kazgeology JSC, has planned the setting of detailed work on promising areas of natural resources for 2021, Anvar Boranbayev, Chairman of the Board of Kazgeology, told Trend.
According to the chairman, the country is currently competing on the international market in the production and export of fuel, energy resources (oil, gas, and coal), metals (iron, chromium, ferroalloys, steel, copper, aluminum, zinc, lead).
"The setting of geological exploration is not limited to this, since there are minerals in the bowels of Kazakhstan, represented by almost all elements of the periodic table," Boranbayev said.
He noted that given the trend of increased demand for rare and rare earth elements, detailed work is planned for 2021 at the promising areas allocated by Kazgeology JSC in 2018.
"Within the framework of the trilateral agreement on cooperation on increasing the geological knowledge of the country's territory, signed between the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, Kazgeology JSC and KazMunayGas JSC, it is planned to carry out work on the study of little-studied sedimentary basins to identify prospects for oil and gas," Boranbayev said.
