Iran’s Wagon Pars Company unveils number of manufactured wagons

The Wagon Pars Company in the Markazi Province (central Iran) manufactured 532 freight and passenger wagons over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021), Chairman of Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization of Markazi Province Saeed Jafari said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

The chairman emphasized that the company manufactured 506 freight and 26 passenger wagons last Iranian year.

Jafari added that the manufacturing of each freight wagon cost 13-21 billion rials (about $309,000-$500,000), while the manufacturing of each passenger wagon cost about 6,500 euro.

“After 22 years, the company has set a record for wagon manufacturing. So, the company manufactured 500 wagons 22 years ago,” he said.

As reported, the Wagon Pars Company was established in 1975. In 1985, it was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Industrial Development & Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO). The company has so far manufactured more than 12,000 freight wagons, 400 passenger wagons, and 300 subway wagons.
