Iranian deputy minister talks about industry, mining sectors

There was an increase in the manufacturing of several products in the industry and mining sectors in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Saeed Zarandi said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

Zarandi said that out of 24 products selected in the industrial sector in Iran, the manufacturing of 23 products, including, household appliances, automobiles, paper, leather, and so on increased, except for acrylic fibers.

"While in the mining sector, out of 10 products selected products, there was an increase in the manufacturing of 9 products, including steel, copper, aluminum, cement, ceramics, and so on, except for alumina," he added.

The deputy minister noted that the value of non-oil exports amounted to $3 billion and imports to $2.8 billion in the first month of Iran's trade.

Zarandi stressed that more than 2,000 enterprises were licensed in Iran to be established and 347 enterprises were licensed to be put into operation in the first month.

As well as, the licenses were issued for the exploration of 70 mines and the launch of 306 mines in Iran over the reporting month, according to the deputy minister.

As reported, the non-oil exports of Iran increased by 80 percent in terms of value and 56 percent in terms of volume in the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, Iran exported 8.3 million tons of goods worth $2.97 billion in the first month.

In addition, the imports of Iran in the 1st month increased by 47 percent in terms of value and decreased by 18 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same month last year. So, Iran imported 2.04 million tons of goods worth $2.79 billion within the mentioned month.
