BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 29
Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:
On the initiative of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, a new component has been added to the agricultural lending project, Trend reports referring to the Georgian media.
As part of the project, it became possible to purchase and install renewable energy sources, which will help reduce the impact on the environment.
At the same time, this will lead to an increase in the implementation of the practice of using renewable energy sources in agricultural activities.
The total amount of the loan granted to one beneficiary for the purposes of this component varies from 1.5 million lari ($477,866) to 10 million lari ($3.1 million).
The Rural Development Agency will co-finance the interest on the loan for up to 36 months at the rate of 11 percent per annum.
With the changes made to the project, it became possible to purchase renewable energy sources through agricultural leasing.
