Iran unveils value of exports from industrial parks

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 30

About $378 million worth of goods were exported from Iran's industrial parks during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2021), Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade and Head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO), Ali Rasoulian said in a press conference, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Rasoulian emphasized that the exported goods were mainly metals and food products.

The deputy minister added that 26 percent of the enterprises operating in Iran's industrial parks at present are metal, 22 percent - chemical, 17 percent - food and soft drinks, 11.8 percent - non-metallic, 7.2 percent - pulp, 5.4 percent - textile, 3.4 percent - electrical and electronics enterprises.

“A total of $2.7 billion worth of goods were exported from Iran's industrial parks over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021),” the official noted.

As reported, there are 823 industrial parks in Iran. About 46,800 industrial enterprises operate in these industrial parks and more than 941,000 people work there.
