The work is being actively carried out in Azerbaijan’s Dashkesan district within the preparation of a preliminary assessment document for the future development of the biggest complex of iron ore deposits in the region, Trend reports on July 6 with reference to the Chairman of the board of AzerGold CJSC Zakir Ibrahimov.
“The work is underway with a reputable international company to organize geological research in accordance with international standards, develop the production plans, determine methods for extracting ores at deposits and calculate economic indicators,” Ibrahimov added.
"I would like to stress that the exploitation of iron ore deposits will help reduce Azerbaijan's dependence on import of ferrous metals and develop the domestic metallurgical industry," the chairman of the board said.
