Iran sees increase in aluminum ingot production

The aluminum ingots production in Iran increased by about 30 percent during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, four Iranian aluminum companies produced 131,000 tons of aluminum ingots within the three months. This figure was 101,000 tons in the same period last Iranian year.

“So, the Iranian Aluminum Company produced about 45,800 tons of aluminum ingots, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company – 42,700 tons, South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) – 33,300 tons, and Iran Alumina Company – 9,440 tons during the 3 months,” the report said.

In addition, the Iran Alumina Company produced 55,900 tons of alumina powder in the three months. This is a decrease of 11 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. This figure was 62,800 tons in the same period last Iranian year, the report said.

According to the report, the Iran Alumina Company also produced 265,000 tons of bauxite during the mentioned period, which is an increase of 49 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the bauxite production was 178,000 tons over the same period last Iranian year.
