Iran has discovered new reservoirs in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), where have 500 million tons of copper reserves, over the past years, the Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Davoud Shahraki told IRNA, Trend reports.
Shahraki said that Iranian mining companies have so far invested 50 trillion rials (about $1.19 billion) in this regard.
“In addition, reservoirs, where have 37 tons of gold and large titanium reserves, have been discovered in the province. One of the Iranian mining companies is investing in this regard,” he noted.
The chairman added that there is a growing interest in investing in the mines of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, both in the private and public sectors, within the framework of the programs implemented in the province.
Shahraki stressed that with the launch of these reservoirs, economic development will be observed in the province.
According to him, 2 cement plants, 1 copper plant, 1 textile factory, 1 plant for the production of insecticides are currently ready for operation in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
