The value of Azerbaijan’s exports to the EU countries increased by 36.6 percent from January through July 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, totaling $6.23 billion, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.
According to the SCC, the share of the EU in Azerbaijan's total export increased over the year from 49.96 to 54.68 percent.
As reported, Azerbaijan's import from the EU states in the reporting period amounted to $1.26 billion, which is 0.7 percent more compared to the same period of 2020. EU’s share in the total imports of Azerbaijan amounted to 20.08 percent (in January through July 2020 – 21.29 percent).
At the same time, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the EU states reached $7.49 billion, which is a growth of 28.8 percent year on year.
Thus, the balance of foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan with the EU countries ($4.96 billion) remained negative in the reporting period.
