TEHRAN, Iran, Aug.17

Trend:

Export of non-oil commodities from Tehran customs will stop as the restriction for Coronavirus takes place in the country, said the head of Iran Export Confederation.

Following one week closer of the customs in Tehran Province, about 40 percent of the country's total non-oil export has been evaluated and blocked, said Mohammad Lahouti, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

"Major part of country's non-oil export is done by owners of commercial cards in Tehran Province and, exporters are concerned the following closure might hurt the process of export," he said.

"Considering Iran's current economic situation, non-oil export should not face a problem not even for one day because a major part of foreign currency supply is from export revenues and even one day has a negative effect," he emphasized

The official has indicated Iran's non-oil export in the first four months of the current Iranian year had proper growth compared to the same time in the last Iranian year (started March 20, 2020) and the following growth should not be slowed down.

The rise of the COVID-19 mortality rate in recent days has prompt Iranian officials to close most businesses for a week.
