Uzbekistan, Serbia to work together on attracting investments

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 26

Uzbekistan and Serbia’s Ministries of Foreign Affairs discussed the possibility of creating a sectoral Intergovernmental Commission, trade and economic cooperation as well as concluding intergovernmental agreements on attracting and protecting investments on August 26 in Tashkent, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

The Serbian delegation was headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nemanja Starovic while Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Gairat Fozilov was heading the Uzbek side.

The sides also discussed attracting Serbian companies to the implementation of investment projects in Uzbekistan.

The current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation were also discussed during the talks.

The parties agreed on the need to intensify the political and diplomatic dialogue between Uzbekistan and Serbia, including through the organization of mutual visits and negotiations at various levels.

The delegations expressed interest in expanding cultural, humanitarian and interregional ties.

They also exchanged views on certain regional and international issues and interactions of the parties within the framework of multilateral structures.
