Prices on food, services continue to rise in Kazakhstan

The prices of food products increased by 0.1 percent in August 2021 compared to July 2021 and by 11.4 percent compared to August 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

In turn, the prices of non-food items increased by 0.6 percent compared to July 2021 and by 7.3 percent compared to August 2020. Paid services jumped in price by 0.8 percent compared to July 2021 and by 6.6 percent compared to August 2020.

Thus, the overall inflation rate in Kazakhstan stood at 0.5 percent month-on-month and 8.7 percent compared to August 2020.

Thus, among thee food the prices of onions increased by 7.6 percent, white cabbage - by 6.5 percent, sunflower oil - by 2.2 percent, buckwheat - by 1.8 percent, pasta, confectionery - by 1.3 percent, pasteurized milk - by 1.1 percent, flour - by 0.8 percent, beef, tea, bread - 0.7 percent each. The meat prices increased on poultry - by 3.7 percent, horse meat - by 2 percent, mutton - by 1.5 percent, pork - by 1.1 percent, sausages - by 1 percent,

Mineral and drinking water rose in price by 1.8 percent, alcoholic beverages - by 0.8 percent, tobacco products - by 0.6 percent. A decrease in prices was recorded for potatoes by 11.5 percent, fresh vegetables - by 9.7 percent.

The increase in prices for a building materials - 1.6 percent, dishes, furniture and household items , textiles - 0.7 percent each, personal goods - 0.6 percent, household appliances - 0.5 percent.

Liquefied gas in cylinders rose in price by 2.8 percent, diesel fuel - by 1.3 percent.
