Iran's Kurdistan Gold Mines Development Company has received a license to build the Saqqez Gold Processing Plant in the Kurdistan Province (western Iran), the Executive Director of the company Mahmoud Ghadermarzi told IRNA, Trend reports.
The director stressed that talks are underway to purchase the property of the site designated for the construction of the plant.
Ghadermarzi added that about 6 trillion rials (about $143 million) will be invested in this plant, which will produce 240 kilograms of gold bars per year and employ about 300 people.
“The plant will process gold extracted from the Qolqoleh gold mine. The gold reserves in this mine are currently 10 million tons. The estimated reserves are 25 million tons.
