Iran exported 137,000 tons of dates, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021), an official of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Mahmoud Bazari said, Trend reports referring to IRNA.
According to Bazari, Iran's dates exports increased by 10 percent in value and 14 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
It is reported that in seven months, Iran exported about $117 million worth of dates.
“Over 7 months, Iran exported dates mainly to India, Pakistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Iraq and the UAE,” he said.
The official noted that agriculture and food products account for 10 percent of Iran's non-oil exports. Meanwhile, dried fruits account for 29 percent of Iran's total agricultural exports.
As reported, Iran exported 4.64 million tons of agricultural and food products worth $2.8 billion during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021).
