Iran increases its sugar reserves

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 10

Iran's sugar reserves increased by 25 percent, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, an official of Iranian Government Trade Corporation (GTC), Hojjat Baratali said, Trend reports citing the corporation’s website.

The official noted that the GTC has imported 749,000 tons of raw sugar to the country within the mentioned period.

“In addition, 286,000 tons of raw sugar were purchased from farmers in the country,” Baratali added.

According to him, 446,000 tons of sugar were delivered to various trade facilities in the country for consumption.

Baratali also said that in 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2021), 1,300 tons of sugar were delivered to various trade facilities for consumption.
