Turkmen enterprise reveals output of glass sheets

Turkmenistan’s enterprise "Türkmen aýna önümleri" (Turkmen Glass Products) in the Akhal region produced products worth 183.7 million manats ($52.3 million) in 2021, Trend reports via Business Turkmenistan.

Last year, the company produced over 5.8 million square meters of glass sheets, all of which were made from domestic raw materials.

The factory, which opened in February 2018 under the Industry and Construction Ministry, not only produces glass for construction purposes but also manufactures 15 different types of glass products to order. These items are widely used in industrial manufacturing, medicine, and household needs.

The largest glass factory in Central Asia has the capacity to produce 7.2 million square meters of transparent glass, 1 million square meters of tinted glass, 300,000 square meters of tempered glass, 100,000 square meters of laminated glass, and 400,000 square meters of double-glazed windows per year.

Since its inception, the company has grown to become a major supplier of glass products that meet international standards. The company exports a wide range of glass products to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.

The enterprise, built by Turkey's Tepe Türkmen Inşaat ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi company, is worth more than $357 million to the country and is outfitted with cutting-edge technology from Germany, Belgium, Italy, Austria, and Finland.
