Iran's Minister of Oil announced the production of sponge coke for the steel and aluminum industries, domestically, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.
Iran's Minister of Oil Javad Owji made the remarks on the sidelines of the document signing ceremony of completing the furnace oil value by Petroleum Industry Research Institute at Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company.
“The technical knowledge of completing the furnace oil value chain has been localized by the research institute,” said Owji.
He added that the country became self-sufficient in the production of sponge coke for the aluminum industry.
The Minister noted that the Ministry of Oil manages the oil export, but according to next year's budget bill (starts on March 21), part of oil sales has been given to other agencies to provide the necessary funding.
