Iran's OPCP organization suggesting price decrease on over 8000 items

TEHRAN, Iran, April 11. The head of Organization for the Protection of Consumers and Producers (OPCP) of Iran Abbas Tabesh announced about 8500 items in Iran should undergo lowering of prices, Trend reports citing Borna New Agency.

From mid-April, the producers are obliged to write the cost of producer and consumption price on the packages of food items, Tabesh explained.

He said the average reduction in the price of food items would result in about 40 percent, if the suggestion is implemented.

According to the OPCP plan, the consumer price may be maximum 30 percent higher the variable cost of manufacturing of the product.
