BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 25. A total of 2.3 million tons of goods worth about 144 trillion rials (about $3.42 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (June 18 through June 23, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is a decrease of 18.5 percent in value, while an increase of 20.1 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (June 11 through June 16, 2022).

So, about 1.92 million tons of goods worth about 177 trillion rials (about $4.2 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.

According to the report, about 2.12 million tons of goods worth more than 98 trillion rials (about $2.33 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section last week.

The main products sold in this section were cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, aluminum, copper, zinc, molybdenum concentrate, cast iron, gold bars, and etc.

In addition, about 167,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 42.2 trillion rials (about $1 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week.

The main products sold in this section were polymer substances, bitumen, lube cut, vacuum bottom, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, etc.

Furthermore, 18,700 tons of various products worth about 2.93 trillion rials (about $69.7 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.

At the same time, 2 tons of saffron worth 650 billion rials (about $15.4 million) were sold in the agricultural section of the exchange.
