BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 19. Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) large mining and raw materials supplier will build a wind power plant in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports via ERG.

ERG shareholders Aleksandr Mashkevich, Patokh Chodiev, Shukhrat Ibragimov and head of Aktobe region Ondassyn Urazalin laid a capsule for the construction of the Khromtau wind power plant.

The first Khromtau wind power plant is being built within the framework of the decarbonization program of the ERG's enterprises and in accordance with the ERG's principles.

A new renewable energy facility with a capacity of up to 155 MWs will be operational in 2024. The wind turbine park will be located on 150 hectares near the city of Khromtau.

The WPP project will be implemented using the latest engineering and technological developments. IEC S class turbines are capable of generating electricity under a variety of weather conditions at wind speeds from 3 to 25 meters per second.

Wind energy will be supplied to the Donskoy Ore Mining and Processing Plant of JSC TNC Kazchrome the largest industrial enterprise in the Aktobe region. Today it consumes about 45 MWs of electricity.

The clean energy of the WPP will reduce coal generation in Kazakhstan. As a result of this project, carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere will be reduced by 520,000 tons per year.

In general, ERG expects to reduce CO2 emissions by 2 million tons as a result of the implementation of an Environmental Strategy related to the energy Strategy, which includes projects for the development of renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy conservation.

By 2030, emissions will be reduced by 56 percent, discharges by 30 percent, and water consumption by 33 percent.
