TEHRAN, Iran, August 22. Iran's export to Iraq has declined during the first four months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2022), the chairman of Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce Yahya Al Eshaq told Trend.
Iran has exported 6.9 million tons of goods to Iraq generating $2.3 billion in revenue during this period, he said adding that the country's export volume has dropped compared to the same time in the past Iranian year (started March 21,2021) was 10.9 million tons of commodity with $2.8 billion revenue.
He stressed the COVID-19 outbreak and the disputes among the Iraqi political parties were the main reasons for the decline of Iran's export to Iraq.
Al Eshaq noted that Iran's export volume was partly reduced due to seasonal changes.
The official has predicted that Iran's export to Iraq will increase in the second half of the year and the bilateral trade volume will reach $9 billion by the end of the current Iranian year.
