BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 8. Iran's imports from the African countries increased by 79 percent in value and 70 percent in volume, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Deputy Chairman of the Iranian-African Businessmen's Club Rouhollah Latifi said on social media, Trend reports.

Latifi noted that Iran imported about 84,300 tons of goods worth about $79.7 million from the African countries in 10 months.

In general, Iran imported goods from 22 out of 54 countries of the African continent, the official said.

“During 10 months, Iran mainly imported goods worth about $19.6 million from Tanzania, worth $15.3 million from Kenya, worth $12.1 million from the Republic of South Africa, worth $8.51 million from Ghana, as well as worth $7.08 million from Seychelles, worth $4.74 from Kongo, and worth $4 million from Egypt,” he added.

In total, Iran's non-oil trade turnover with African countries for the first 10 months amounted to 2.33 million tons worth approximately $1.19 million.
