BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 13. Iran’s vegetable oil production increased by 10 percent in volume for the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 22, 2022 through January 20, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Vegetable Oil Industry Association’s website.

In total, approximately 176,000 tons of vegetable oil were produced in the country for the 10th month, while in the same month of the last Iranian year, the figure stood at 160,000 tons.

Of the mentioned volume, approximately 110,000 tons of vegetable oil were produced by citizens at home using traditional methods in the 10th month, which is a 22-percent increase compared to 90,600 tons in the same month last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, about 66,000 tons of vegetable oil were produced by the country’s oil processing factories for the reporting month. This is a decrease of 6.8 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, the figure amounted to about 69,600 tons in the same period last Iranian year.

Generally, about 2.03 million tons of vegetable oil were produced in Iran over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), which is an increase of 25.3 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).
