BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 28. Iran exported over 27,900 tons of shrimp worth $99.7 million, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023), Trend reports citing Iran Fisheries Organization.

According to the report, Iran’s shrimp exports for 11 months increased by 49.6 percent in value, while decreased by 0.49 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, more than 28,000 tons worth $66.6 million shrimp were exported from the country in the same period of last Iranian year.

Iran’s shrimps were exported to 19 countries, mainly Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Türkiye and other countries.

Within 11 months, Iran exported 14,300 tons of shrimp worth $48.1 million to Russia.

Generally, Iran’s total non-oil exports for the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through February 19, 2023) amounted to over 111 million tons worth $48.8 billion. This is an increase of 12.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 1 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
