BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15. Iran's imports from Uzbekistan decreased by 9.88 percent in value, while increasing by 7.22 percent in volume, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
In total, Iran imported 4,920 tons of goods worth $8.09 million from Uzbekistan in 2 months.
Meanwhile, in the same period of last Iranian year, Iran's imports from Uzbekistan amounted to about 4,590 tons worth $8.98 million.
Alone in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023), Iran imported 2,680 tons of goods worth $5.02 million from Uzbekistan.
Iran mainly imported cotton, beans, silk, ammonium nitrate and, etc. from Uzbekistan.
Overall, Iran imported 35,200 tons of goods worth approximately $72.4 million from Uzbekistan over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is a decrease of 37 percent in value and 42.8 percent in volume compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
At the same time, Iran imported 4.73 million tons of goods worth $7.94 billion for the first 2 months of the current Iranian year.
This is a decrease of 4.79 percent in value and 8.7 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
