BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 7. Domestic van production in Iran increased by 70 percent, during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
Overall, 1,371 vans were manufactured within the country for 5 months, while in the same period last Iranian year, Iran’s local van production stood at 806 units, according to the report of Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.
In the 5th month alone (July 23 through August 22, 2023), Iran produced 382 vans domestically. This is an increase of 103 percent compared to 188 vans in the same month Iranian year.
Meanwhile, Iran manufactured a total of 3,164 vans domestically, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 267 percent compared to 862 vans in the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
