BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 25. The non-oil exports from Iran’s Golestan Province grew by 41 percent in value and 46 percent in volume during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Director General of Golestan Province Customs Office Shahriar Shahriari said, Trend reports.

According to him, the province exported non-oil products worth over $231 million and weighed 397,000 tons in nine months.

Shahriari also said that the main items included polystyrene, eggs, cheese, various profiles, fish feed, iodine, dates, pistachios, nuts, etc.

The director general added that the province’s non-oil products reached 25 countries, with Turkmenistan, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan being the top destinations.

Overall, Iran exported 90 million tons of non-oil products worth over $32 billion in the first 8 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023). This is an increase of 1.6 percent in value and 27 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.

Iran’s non-oil exports do not include crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Therefore, Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
