Iran’s Golestan Province increases non-oil exports in value and volume

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 24. The non-oil exports of Iran’s Golestan Province grew by 39 percent in value and 46 percent in volume in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through February 19, 2024), compared to the same period last year, Director General of Golestan Province Customs Office Shahriar Shahriari said, Trend reports.

The director general noted that the province exported non-oil products worth around $288 million and weighed 489,000 tons in 11 months.

Shahriari said that the main export items were polystyrene, eggs, cheese, various kinds of profiles, fish feed, dates, pistachios, etc.

He also said that the province’s non-oil products reached 29 countries, with Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan being the top destinations. Turkmenistan alone imported products worth $83.4 million from the province.

Iran’s efforts to boost its non-oil exports amid the US sanctions that limit its oil sales. Iran’s non-oil exports include all products except crude oil, mazut, and white oil.

According to the latest data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran’s total non-oil exports for 10 months were 113 million tons worth $40.5 billion, representing an 11 percent decline in value and a 9.4 percent growth in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
