BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 27. Iran’s Mehran customs in the Ilam Province (western Iran) exported 2.94 million tons of non-oil products, valued at $1.73 billion, in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through February 19, 2024), said Miragha Abdi, the director general of the Ilam Province Customs Office, Trend reports.

Abdi said that this was an 18 percent increase in value compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year. However, he did not specify the change in export volume.

The official also mentioned that the main export items included agricultural products, construction materials, and others. These products were shipped to Iraq and other countries.

Abdi stated that the Mehran customs office ranked first among 12 border customs offices with Iraq in exporting non-oil products from Iran for the third consecutive year.

He added that in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Iran’s Mehran Customs exported about 3.26 million tons of non-oil products, valued at about $1.6 billion.

Iran’s Mehran Customs is situated in the Ilam Province (western Iran), close to the border with Iraq. The customs are about 230 kilometers away from Baghdad, the capital of Iraq.
