The meeting of experts of Iran and Azerbaijan on construction the new railway bridge at the border of two countries completed on 4 August. At the meeting, which took place in Astara, the Azerbaijan’s delegation was headed by the deputy chief of the Azerbaijan State Railway Department (ASRD) Mehti Mehtiyev, Trend was told at ASRD.
ASRD also noted, the decision was taken during the meeting that the place for the bridge construction would be selected after recommendations of the frontier services of Iran and Azerbaijan. The accord to present the bridge draft construction to the Azerbaijani side was achieved.
The experts of the countries voiced proposals on accelerating the project, laying additional roads, establishing the points for the wheels changing and etc.
The funds for financing construction the new bridge of 101 meter through the Araz river, will be allocated by the governments of Iran and Azerbaijan within the North-South transport corridor project.
