The transition process into the deflation phase this year may be delayed and is expected no earlier than June. The Azerbaijan National Bank (ANB) is expecting the price reduction of the food products, mainly fruit-vegetable products, Trend reports with reference to Elman Rustamov, the head of the Managing Board of ANB. It is related to the cool weather condition and affects the reduction of the consumer prices. However, we are continuing monitoring, told Rustamov.

Meanwhile the prognosis of the government and ANB related to the inflation in 2006 remains unchanged and it is expected the single-valued inflation at the level of 8-9% at the end of the year, stressed Rustamov.
